On a sunny and slightly crisp fall afternoon, just hours before a full week had passed since the Sept. 17 bombing, foot traffic was back to normal along W. 23rd St. — but visible signs of the explosion lingered between Sixth and Seventh Aves., from boarded windows above to shards of glass on the sidewalk below.

Last week the city was buzzing with the news that the Village Halloween Parade, a Downtown tradition for 39 years, is not definite for 2013. If the parade producers don’t raise $50,000 by Oct. 21, the annual event won’t take place this year.

Getting down to business: Members of the Greenwich Village-Chelsea Chamber of Commerce recently toured the Sixth Police Precinct’s stationhouse on W. 10th St. and also the adjoining Bomb Squad headquarters on Charles St. The Bomb Squad’s super-sniffing dog was happy to say hi to the local business leaders, as were members of the precinct’s detectives squad.
